Delores Halverson

Delores Diane Halverson, 60, HItterdal, MN, passed away April 20, 2018, peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family.

Delores was born July 28, 1957, in Moorhead, MN, to Melvin and Darlene (Glawe) Askelson.  She grew up in the Felton, MN and Detroit Lakes, MN area.  In 1973 she married Mitchell Larson of Felton and they had two children.  She later married the love of her life, William Halverson, on June 10, 1982, and they had one son.  They lived in the Hitterdal area until her death.

When Delores was a child she had fond memories of the winters they would spend out west logging.  She enjoyed her flowers and decorating her lawn.  Most of all, she enjoyed taking care of her children, grandkids and friends.

Delores is survived by her husband, William “Billy”, HItterdal; one son, Bobby Halverson, Hitterdal;  two daughters, Lori (Jamie) Burnside, Hawley, Tina (Scott) Visser, Gary, MN; one step-son, Bubba Halverson, Duluth, MN; one step-daughter, Billi Halverson, Fort Worth, TX; four grandchildren, Megan Burnside, Jesse Burnside, Corben Visser, Chloe Visser; four sisters, Marcyne Cahill, Waseca, MN, Elaine Thompson, Hitterdal, Denise (Roger) Halverson, Ulen, MN and Julie Klemetson, Hitterdal, and many nieces and nephews.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Duane; and nephews, Lucas and Ethan.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Sanford Medical Center, Dr. Geerearts, and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their wonderful, loving care of Delores.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 11:00 A.M., at Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, MN. Friends and family may gather together from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
