Delores Marjorie Klug, age 83 of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2008, in MeritCare's Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND. Delores was born May 11, 1924 to Edward and Ethel Olson Krabbenhoft in Sabin, MN. She was baptized and confirmed and a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sabin. She lived in rural Glyndon, MN, where she graduated from Glyndon High School in 1941. After high school she moved to Fargo and was employed at Armour and Co. of West Fargo. On October 8, 1944, she married Sgt. Robert Kenneth Whiting. He was killed in action in WWII while in Germany in 1945. She married Waldo Klug on March 7, 1946. They farmed near Glyndon until his heart attack in 1966. Shortly after, they established a 15,000 hen laying house operation which they ran for 10 years, at which time they sold the farm and moved to Sabin. They spent their winters in Arizona. Waldo died in 1986. Delores continued her winters in Arizona and the summers in Sabin with her gardens and flowers. Her spare time was used in making quilts and counted cross stitch articles of which she received many awards at the fair. Her son, Richard and grandson, Andrew made their home with her until July 1999 when she moved into an apartment in Moorhead. She was a member of Elmwood Homemakers group. She also was a 4H Club leader, and taught Sunday school for many years. Delores is survived by 2 sons, Dennis Eileen Klug of Frazee, MN, and Richard Kathy Klug of Sabin, MN; 3 daughters, Gail of Moorhead, Diane Steve Bakken of Pelican Rapids, MN, and Wendy Terry Slattery of Bloomington, MN; 6 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands; infant daughter; parents; brother, Gordon; and 2 sisters, Clara and Gladys.
