Deloris E. Bowers

Deloris E. Bowers, age 80, of Lake Park, MN died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN after a 4 year battle with ovarian cancer.Deloris Evaughn Peterson was born on May 9, 1929 to Roy and Myrtle Peterson in Hitterdal, MN. She grew up and attended school in Hitterdal. Deloris attended Moorhead Business College, riding the train to and from Moorhead every day. After she graduated she worked as a bookkeeper. On September 30, 1948 she married Richard Bowers from Lake Park. Together they had eight children. She could be found at all of her children's sporting and extracurricular events. She enjoyed sewing and playing cards with her friends and was a member of Lake Park Lutheran Church. After her children were grown, Deloris worked for Bec-Lin Foods in Lake Park and Perham, as well as Sunnyside Care Center. Blessed be the memory of Deloris, she will be missed dearly.She is survived by four sons, Larry Bev Bowers of Montevideo, MN, Terry Laurie Bowers of Detroit Lakes, MN, Gary "Lefty" Terri Bowers of Lake Park, MN and Barry Jana Bowers of Detroit Lakes, MN; four daughters, Bonnie Greg Schmidt of Prior Lake, MN, Connie Tom McDougall of Hawley, MN, Lonnie Mark Peterson of Eden Prairie, MN and Sherrie Bowers Mel Wasserman of Concord, CA; one sister, Ruby Ray Solum of Ulen, MN: two brothers, Minor Gloria Peterson of Collingsdale, PA; Charles Peterson of Yuma, AZ; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and two brothers.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Lake Park Lutheran Church, Kitchen Fund.
