Delphia J. Arneson

Delphia J. Arneson, 86, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN.

Delphia was born on July 2, 1930, to Magnolia Schoonover in O’Fallon, IL, where she grew up and attended school. She married to Alfred Ward in 1946; he died in 1951. Delphia later married Moffit B. Morey in 1956. They moved with the family to Wilton, WI, where they lived until moving to Baudette, MN, in 1969. She worked at Solvay Pharmaceuticals while continuing to raise her family. On June 13, 1980, Delphia married Harris Arneson. Together they made their home in Baudette until retiring on Turtle Lake near Hawley, MN. Delphia enjoyed working with her flowers, gardening and decorating the yard. She also enjoyed the loons, hummingbirds and loved watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren play in the lake. She will be greatly missed.

Delphia is survived by her husband, Harris; children, Shirley (Dale) Misner of Motley, MN, Laurie (Keith) Pommerening of Bemidji, MN, Tod Morey of Bemidji, MN, Lila Morey of Baudette, MN, Blossom (Mark) Chwialkowski of Fridley, MN, Brian (Donna) Morey of Little Canada, MN; 16 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by grandson, Alan Clementson; sister, Vera Jordan; and three brothers.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m., with visitation from 9:00 -10:00 a.m., in Solem Lutheran Church, rural Hawley, MN.

Final resting place will be in Elm Park Cemetery, Baudette, MN, with her husband.
