Dennis Lynn Torkelson

Dennis Lynn Torkelson, 84, of Hawley, MN, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, surrounded by family at Sanford Health Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Dennis was born on July 16, 1935, to Helmer and Selma (Helgenset) Torkelson in Grafton, ND.

Dennis served in the U.S. Army. He was a proud 34 year veteran of A.A. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Virginia and Sally; and brothers, Noel and Howard.

Dennis is survived by his brother, David (Elaine) Torkelson; son, Dennis Torkelson Jr.; daughters, Cyndi (Doug) Dusbabek, Rhonda (Russ) Peterman, Tammy (Jim) Linder, and Lisa (Brent) Hannestad; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 P.M., followed by the memorial service at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 22, 2019, at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN. Final resting place will be at Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, MN, following the service.
