Dennis Alan Reed

Dennis Alan Reed, 75, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, in his home in Moorhead.

Dennis was born on September 1, 1948, in Virginia, MN, to Robert and Ruth (Luhta) Reed. He grew up in Virginia, MN, attending schools in Embarrass, MN, where he graduated from high school in 1966. After high school, he enlisted with the United States Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged on April 1, 1973, returning to Virginia, MN, shortly before moving to Moorhead, MN. He attended Kundert Aviation School, working part time at Mattson Truck Stop where he met Peggy Frey. They were united in marriage on May 8, 1971, in Moorhead, MN. He began his career, inspired by his father-in-law, Robert, as a truck driver for nearly 45 years.

Dennis loved the outdoors and frequently hunted and fished. He enjoyed working on cars in his garage and loved a great game of bingo. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, participated in the honor flight, and was a member of the Moorhead American Legion.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Peggy; children, Jason (Selena) Reed, Angel Reed, and Chad Reed; grandchildren, Madison, Alex, Claire, Ellen, and Lucy; father, Robert Reed; siblings, Dale (Darcy) Reed, Stanley (Roxanne) Reed, Danny (Sue) Reed, and Pam (Chris) Kotys; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ruth; and sister, Susie Malenius.

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 A.M., Monday, April 1, 2024, at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. Burial will take place at Fargo National Cemetery, Harwood, ND, at 2:00 P.M., after the memorial service.
