Devayne N. Eppler

Devayne N. Eppler, 94, of Hawley, Minnesota, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, Minnesota.

Devayne was born June 16, 1921 at the home farm in Cromwell Township, Clay County, MN, to William and Estella Simmons Eppler. He attended school in rural District 104, and graduated from Hawley High School. He continued his education at the University of Minnesota and NDSU. Following his education, Devayne farmed the home farm until 1990. He married Verna Just at Oakes, ND in 1989. He worked in a grocery store, meat market, the farm and the Hawley Recycling Center. He was a lifelong member of Hawley United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna; his parents; brother, Wallace, and a niece, Fye Marie.

Devayne is survived by Verna’s children; one nephew; two nieces, one great-nephew, two great-nieces and their families.

Honoring Devayne’s wishes for no service, the family invites you to join them for a Celebration of Life luncheon, on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 12:30 p.m., at Hawley United Methodist Church, Hawley, MN. Burial will be in Spring Prairie Cemetery, rural Hawley, MN.
