Diana Price

Diana Price, 75, Moorhead, MN, died Friday, July 9, 2021, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Diana Lynn Whitaker was born June 10, 1946, in Presho, SD, to C. Bruce and Dorothy (Benedict) Whitaker.  She graduated from high school in Vivian, SD and went on to attend South Dakota State University in the nursing program for 3 years. Later she would train as an operating room technologist in Ann Arbor, MI for 2 years.

Diana married Kenneth Price in Draper, SD on May 15, 1971.  They had four children and lived in several different states while Kenneth was in the Navy, finally settling in Moorhead in 1988.  Diana was a devoted mother to her children, staying home to care for them when they were young. She was a popular hostess at the Fryn’ Pan in Moorhead from the early 1990’s to 1997 and she never forgot the faces of her loyal customers.  Diana was active as a trainer for leaders in both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and she enjoyed crafting, knitting, cake decorating, camping and researching genealogy.  After Kenneth’s retirement, they enjoyed travelling together throughout the U.S., especially to many of the national parks.

Diana is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth; children, Angela Price, Moorhead, Lara Price, Fargo, Corey Price, Moorhead and Michael (Jennifer) Price, Moorhead; grandchildren, Christian and Sean (Lara’s children) and Tristan, Caytlin, Kenny and Max (Corey’s children); siblings, Steven (Sandra) Whitaker, Nancy (David) Freistad, Jimmie (Lynne) Whitaker and Carl (Roxanne) Whitaker.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Lyla Winfield.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 22, 2021, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M., followed by the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Moorhead.
