Dolores Landblom

Dolores (Anderson) Landblom, age 98, of Fargo, ND, passed away October 27, 2018. She was raised in New Rockford, ND and graduated from New Rockford High School in 1938. After graduation, Dolores moved to Fargo and attended Interstate Business College, graduating in 1939. Hired by Lincoln Mutual Insurance Company, she served as company treasurer at a time when few women held executive positions. Upon retirement from Lincoln Mutual, she continued to serve on the Board of Directors for many years.

Dolores married Eldon Landblom on November 9th, 1946 at First Lutheran Church in Fargo, where they made their home. They shared their love of music with Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church where Dolores directed the choir and served as pianist for over 60 years.

Dolores was a great help and constant presence at the home of her sister, Jean (Bill) Berg. She was a doting and generous aunt to 5 nieces and nephews. Her support for Jean, particularly Saturday mornings for grocery shopping using several lucky nieces and nephews as ‘helpers’.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lou Anderson; husband, Eldon Landblom; brothers-in-law, Clyde Landblom and Robert William Berg; and nephew, Soren Berg.

Dolores is survived by her sister, Jean Berg; niece, Kristin (Barry) Hamilton and their children Maren, Gustav, and Anders; niece, Maret (Steve) Worwa and their children Katherine, Sam, and Alec; nephew, Erik Berg and children Hanna and Ian; nephew, Svend Berg and his children Bjorn, Brigetta, and Christian; and dear friend, Linda Fenelon, where combined talents created beautiful music.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with a visitation one hour prior to the service at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Maple Sheyenne Lutheran Cemetery following the service.
