Donald L. Littlefield Sr., of Fargo, died peacefully at home on May 8, 2009, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was born to Harry and Georgia Cook Littlefield, Sr. on October 21, 1927 in Georgetown, MN and graduated from Ulen High. He joined the Army in January of 1946 and served in the Philippines until March of 1947. He married the love of his life, Martha McCallum Littlefield, on June 19, 1947 and celebrated 61 years of marriage in 2008. He proudly worked as a plumber-pipefitter for Robert Gibb & Sons for almost 40 years. Don was a nationally known Square Dance Caller who taught and called square dances regionally to several clubs and at least two generations of square dancers. Upon his retirement, he and Martha traveled the country in their motor home visiting friends and family and calling square dances all over the country. Don was preceded in death by his parents Harry Sr. and Georgia, his sister Evelyn, and brothers Kendall, Harry Jr., and Bobby.He is survived by Martha, his wife almost 62 years, their son Donald Jr. Candace of Fleming Island, FL, two Grandsons, Trevor Littlefield Thea and Turner Littlefield Misty, three Great Grandchildren, Hannah, Logan, and Hayden Littlefield, and two sisters, Shirlenne Upton of Fargo and Sharon Peterman of Moorhead, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
