Donald B. Britten

Donald B. Britten of Moorhead, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 12, 2006 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Donald was born March 6, 1940. He was raised by parents Fred Britten and Agnes and Herman Peterson. He grew up and attended grade school in Grand Forks before moving to Larimore where he graduated from high school in 1958. After graduation from high school Donald entered the Army and served from 1961 to 1963. On June 12, 1964 he married the love of his life, Joyce Hangaard. He worked as a lather for various contractors and retired from G & M Lathing Inc. in 1996 after about 25 years with the company. Donald was a member of the Lathers Local # 190, Minneapolis, MN, a member of the Moorhead American Legion, and a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. He was an avid bowler, but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and family. He loved fishing, and watching his grandchildren play softball, baseball, and football.Donald was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Robert Larson. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; his two daughters, Cynthia Pokrzywinski, her husband Dennis, and their children, Ryan, Kyle, and Tessa of West Fargo, and Lisa Zerr, her husband Richard, and their children Benjamin and Joseph of West Fargo.
