Donald Brummond, 70, of Fargo, ND died Saturday, July 22, at Sanford Hospice House, Fargo. He was the son of Joyce and the late Robert Brummond.
Don was a man of infinite curiosity who loved many things: cold and faraway places (Antarctica, Greenland, New Zealand), sailing, biking, skiing, hauling sugar beets, Swedish cars. But he was passionate about one thing: helping others. Whether he was tuning up a bicycle for a neighbor or helping a Concordia undergraduate navigate the mysteries of physics, Donald relished the opportunity to be of service to others and to lend a hand.
Don was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last November.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce; his sister, Janice; his partner of 32 years, Barbara Edin; extended family; and countless friends.
At Donald’s request, no service will be held. Memorials may be given to Dark Sky Association, MN Conservation Volunteer, or ND Public Radio.
