Donald “Don” Christian Beutler

Donald “Don” Beutler, 49, Valley City, ND, died November 6, 2021, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Donald Christian Beutler was born January 18, 1972 in Fargo, ND, to John and Christene (Anderson) Beutler.  Don grew up in Revillo, SD and graduated from Grant Deuel High School in 1990.  He was active in basketball, football, band and theater.  Don obtained his bachelor and master degrees in business from NDSU.  On September 21, 2002 he was united in marriage to Mitzi McPherson at Dilworth Lutheran Church.  They made their home in Moorhead and had three sons: John Nicholas IV, Michael Nelson, and Christian Dennis.

Don worked at American Crystal Sugar in Moorhead as a shift administrator for many years.  The family later moved to Valley City, ND and he worked as shift administrator for Cargill in Spiritwood, ND and finally John Deere in Valley City.

Don’s greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with family.  His favorite holiday was the 4^th of July and the family enjoyed their lake cabin on Fishhook Lake in Park Rapids for many years.  They also enjoyed their yearly trip to Big Sky, MT for downhill skiing.  Don also enjoyed playing and umpiring softball for many years.

Don is survived by his wife, Mitzi and their sons, John, Michael and Christian, of Valley City, ND; his mother, Christene (Dennis) Schmidtke, of Dilworth, MN; his brother, D.J. (Tanya) Beutler, of Moorhead, MN, and several other loving relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father, John Nicholas Beutler III.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 2:00 P.M., at Dilworth Lutheran Church in Dilworth, MN.  Friends and family may gather together from 1-2 P.M.
