Donald Eugene Ellefson was born on April 2, 1923, in Fargo, ND, to O.E. and Adeline Engelhorn Ellefson. He grew up and attended school in Minnewauken, ND, graduating from high school there in 1941. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in England, Germany and France. He was discharged in 1946 and returned to Minnewauken and then attended the Wahpeton State School of Science. He worked as a Linotype operator in the Minnewauken area, including the Farmers Press newspaper in Minnewauken and the Devils Lake World newspaper in Devils Lake, ND. Donald married Lorna Johanson on October 1, 1953, in Devils Lake, MN. They moved to Fargo, ND, in 1969 and he worked for Pierce Printing until retiring in 1985. Donald is survived by his wife, Lorna Ellefson, Fargo, ND; one son, Greg Ellefson, Fargo, ND; one daughter, Cindy Mike Grund, Moorehead, MN; four grandchildren, Michelle, Leslie Anna, Derek and Brandon Grund; one brother, Paul Lynette Ellefson, Mesa, AZ.
