Donald E. “Don” Hedlund

Donald E. “Don” Hedlund, 77, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Bethany on 42^nd Senior Living, Fargo, ND.

Don was born in Fargo, ND, on February 23, 1943 to Albert and Olga (Cleveland) Hedlund. He grew up in Fargo and graduated from Fargo Central High School. He went to work for Scheels Sporting Goods as a gun specialist before taking a position with Tandy Leather in Fargo. He then transferred to Duluth, MN, to manage the Tandy Leather store there and then to Colorado City, CO to manage another store. He later moved back to Fargo and worked for Mac’s Hardware before starting his own gunsmith business which he ran out of his home until his retirement.

Don married Shirley Plienis on June 19, 1965 in Fargo and they had two children. He loved hunting, fishing, golf and photography.

He is survived by his wife; children, Dusty (Cheryl) Hedlund and Jodie (Eli) Harvala and their children, Foster and Keaton; brother, Douglas (Gwen) Hedlund; niece, Shawna Stenson and nephew, Keith Hedlund.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 3:00 PM with a visitation starting at 2:00 PM in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
