Donald E. Schneeweis

Donald "Don" E. Schneeweis, age 66, of Moorhead, MN, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009, in MeritCare's Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, ND.Donald Eugene Schneeweis was born on January 8, 1943 to Victor and Joyce Hoff Schneeweis in Grand Forks, ND. He grew up and attended school in Grand Forks, graduation from Grand Forks Central High School in 1961. On September 1, 1979 he married Vel Ziegelmann in Grand Forks. In 1979, Don and Vel moved to Bismarck where they lived until they moved to Moorhead in 1983. Don retired from Velocity Express in 2005.Don enjoyed spending time at Long Lake near Detroit Lakes, traveling to Tennessee each summer, bowling, watching Red Hawks and Twins baseball and most importantly, being involved with the Special Olympics as a coach and mentor. Don will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.Don is survived by his wife, Vel Schneeweis of Moorhead, MN; three sons, Bruce Paulette Remore of Grand Forks, ND, David Schneeweis of Moorhead, MN and Timothy Corcoran of Lyon, MI; five daughters, Beverly Don Sherlin of Sweetwater, TN, Bonnie Leo Feltman Remore of East Grand Forks, MN, Brenda Mike Glimsdahl of Grand Forks, ND, Renae Buolduc of Huston, TX and Laurie Corcoran of Colorado Springs, CO; three brothers, Douglas Schneeweis of MT, Robert Elaine Schneeweis of South Elgin, IL and James Patricia Schneeweis of Savage, MN; one sister, Vicki Danny Sundeen of Buxton, ND; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.
