Donald E. Tollefson

Donald E. Tollefson, 72, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died September 4, 2013, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Donald Ernest Tollefson was born June 26, 1941 in Langdon, ND, to Manley and Irene Skrogstad Tollefson. He grew up and attended school in Osnabrock, ND. In the early 1960’s he attended Hanson Mechanical Trade School in Fargo, ND. Donald was married to LaVaye M. Larson on April 6, 1965 in Grand Forks, ND. They were married for 20 years. He was employed at Haukedahl Trucking, Can-Am Trucking, R&R Trucking, all of Audubon, MN, Luckens Trucking of Winger, MN, and Evenson Trucking of Pelican Rapids, MN.

Donald was known for his loyal work habits, caring for people, his humor, persistence, fighting the odds, impeccable knowledge about mechanical repairing, patience, and a good solid punch. He enjoyed water skiing in his younger years, spending time at the lakes, being around people, and loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Candice and Carol Tollefson.

Donald is survived by his children, Mischelle Shane Hagerty, Donald Victor Sandy Tollefson, Melanie Tollefson and Jason Tollefson; brothers, Virgil Sue Tollefson and Stan Bonnie Tollefson; sisters, Jan Tollefson, Ione Robert Creager, Marlene Doug Wind, and Loretta Dave Marlowe; fourteen grandchildren, Kayla Hukriede, Derek Tollefson, Matt Anderson, Ashley Anderson, Steven Hukriede, Breanne Tollefson, Kayla Hanson, Charlie Hagerty, Dylan Tollefson, Damion Outen, Caitlyn Tollefson, Brandon Tollefson, Mason Tollefson, Kiera Tollefson; and three great-grandchildren, Keanna, Bailey and Jayce.
