Donald H. Straight

Donald H. Straight, 77, Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, September 5, 2005, in the nursing home.Donald was born on August 13, 1928, in Scambler Township, Ottertail County, MN. He grew up and attended school in Pelican Rapids, MN. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 until 1953, when he attended Molar Barber College in Minneapolis, MN. Donald married Annabelle Johnson on November 18, 1950 in Detroit Lakes, MN. They lived in Breckenridge, MN, for two years, before moving to Pelican Rapids, MN, where he owned the Riverside Barbershop from 1955 until 1977. They moved to Moorhead, MN, in 1978 and he worked at Moorhead State University until retiring in 1985 due to disability from Parkinson's disease.Donald is survived by his wife, Annabelle, Moorhead, MN; one son Dean Straight, Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter Julie Sherne Wadsworth, Stacy, MN; and one brother, Eugene Elva Straight, Golden Valley, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Oren and three sisters, Elsie Tolbert, Laura Tolbert and Grace Nelson.
