Donald L. Rahman

Donald L. Rahman, 77, of Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Eventide on 8^th in Moorhead. under the amazing care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Don was born May 26, 1941, to Franklin and Myrtle (Thielbar) Rahman in Northfield, MN, where he grew up and graduated from high school. Don & Ellie started their family in Northfield and raised them in Fargo. They were avid fans of their children as they participated in sports and activities. After becoming empty nesters, they moved to the Twin Cities where they enjoyed traveling, cheering on their grandkid’s sports and activities, and attending Twin’s games. His love and acceptance touched so many youth and adults through his passion at work and community involvement at Oak Grove Lutheran High School, Arrowhead Music Group, Calvary Lutheran Youth Groups, as well as Men’s Bible Study Groups. Don took every chance he got to inspire people to believe in themselves and feel unconditionally loved.

Don is survived by his wife, Ellie; sons, Brian (Jessica) of Moorhead, MN, Brad (Sheryl) of Huntington Beach, CA, Barry (Laura) of Moorhead, MN; daughter, Beth (Steven) Johnson of St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Braden, Cody, Cassidy, Megan, Hayden, Ashleigh, Brandon, Brianna, Kieran; great-granddaughter, Saniya; and siblings, Gordy, Jerry, Calvin (Louise), Audrey (Allen “Buck”) Pleschourt, Joanne (Steven) Lawrence, Kay, Nancy (Mike) Lucast, Mona (Robert) Johannson, Alvin, Marvin (Christy).

He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin; mother, Myrtle Teachout; brothers, Arnie and Keith; sister, Emma; and sister-in-law, Virginia.

His urn was inspired by Don’s favorite memories and places, painted by Jessica Rahman.

Visitation will be from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, November 28, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Golden Valley, MN.
