Donald T. Ristvedt

Donald T. Ristvedt of Lake Park, MN, passed away at his home on January 14th, 2011, at the age of 93 years.Donald was born on March 26, 1917, on the home farm to Adolph and Johanne Ristvedt. He was the thirteenth child out of fourteen children. Donald attended District #12, north of Lake Park before helping his parents with the farming operation.Donald was united in marriage to Doris Adeline Bartness on July 3, 1943. They made their home in Fargo, ND, where he found employment at Brannicks Manufacturing in the machine shop and Doris worked at Newberrys. They purchased Doris' parents farm eight miles north of Lake Park and farmed weekends and evening until the family moved to the farm permanently in 1956. The farm was sold in 1962. Donald retired from the Fargo Public Library in 1979.Donald is survived by three children: Steven Ristvedt of Lake Park, Cheryl Vanata of Detroit Lakes and Wayne Sue Ristvedt of Alexandria; three grandchildren, Scott Sherry Vanata of Detroit Lakes, Eric Deb Ristvedt of Auburn Hills, MI and Amy Ristvedt of Minneapolis, MN and five great-grandchildren, Michael, Casey, Matti, Hanna, and Augustus Vanata.Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Doris 1977, his son, Jerry, along with all his brothers and sisters.
