Donald V. Rea

Donald V. Rea, age 91, of Moorhead, MN, formerly Glyndon, MN, died on Friday, January 25, 2013, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

Donald Victor Rea was born on December 11, 1921 to Evertt and Hattie Tucker Rea in Glyndon, MN. He grew up and attended school in Glyndon, graduating from Glyndon High School in 1939. In Don’s younger years he enjoyed traveling. On August 26, 1962, he married Lyla Boyer in Glyndon. Lyla died on January 17, 2004. Don spent his life farming in Glyndon. He retired from farming at the age of 65 in 1986. After retirement, Don enjoyed volunteering at Golden Living Center in Moorhead. He was a lifetime member of Glyndon Congregational UCC Church, a member of the Glyndon Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Riverside Cemetery Board and cemetery sexton in Glyndon for numerous years.

He is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Rea of Moorhead, MN; brother-in-law, Roy Davis of Moorhead, MN; nieces and nephews, Betty Griep, Milton Sheila Rea, Darrell Pat Kluck, Bill Linda Davis and Pat Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; brother and sister-in-law, Charles Zella Rea; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mable Rea, Eunice Sylvester Kluck and Eula Davis and niece, Barbara Carter.

The family would like to thank the staff on 2nd floor at Eventide and Hospice of the Red River Valley for their wonderful care of Don.

Visitation: Sunday, January 27, 2013, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral: Monday, January 28, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Glyndon, MN.
