Donald W. ’George’ Bridwell

Donald Wayne was born on December 30, 1922 in Dilworth, MN to George and Minnie Keuhl Bridwell. He grew up in Dilworth, where he graduated from Dilworth High School. George volunteered to enter the Navy during WWII. Upon returning, he returned to his job with Northern Pacific Railroad Company, where he worked for most of his life. George was also a business owner in Moorhead for many years. On April 27, 1957, George married Kathryn Berens in St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo, ND. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball. He was an avid fan of the Moorhead Blues baseball team; watching his grandsons play for 9 years. He also loved when his grandchildren would visit and they would travel together. He was a member of the American Legion, and a charter, lifelong member of the VFW. George is survived by his wife, Kathryn, Moorhead, MN; two sons, Bart Cathy Bridwell, Silver Spring, MD and Scott Bridwell, Dilworth, MN; two daughters, AnnDee Mark Pieterick, Moorhead, MN and Janet Bridwell, Winona, MN; sister-in-law, Marion Bridwell, Moorhead, MN; and five grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Joseph, Sarah and Zachary. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.
