Donald Frederick Weber

Donald Frederick Weber, 95, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at Riverpointe Assisted Living, Moorhead, MN.

Donald was born on January 4, 1929, to John and Mabel (Cameron) Weber in Credit River Township, MN. He grew up in Prior Lake, MN, and graduated from Shakopee High School. He was proud of the fact that he would drive the school bus while attending high school. He then attended Minneapolis Business College for three years pursuing accounting. He joined the National Guard and served his country from 1948 – 1952, stationed in Camp Rucker, Alabama. He was united in marriage to Hazel Gleason on August 31, 1957, at St. Agnes Church in Lengby, MN.

After his time in the service, Donald returned to Minneapolis to work for the Curtis Company, which dissolved and was purchased by Wylie’s Company. They developed a branch in Fargo/Moorhead, and Donald moved his family to continue working with Wylie’s Co. as an office manager until 1973. He began his career as an accountant in 1976 with Anderson, Keszler, and Associates for many years until he eventually retired.

Donald loved to drive anywhere and everywhere and was very comfortable behind the wheel. He enjoyed vacationing to Loon Lake with his family. He was a regular member at the YMCA and loved to go nearly three times a week. He was an active member at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was a devoted Christian and member to the church, holding many positions at St. Joseph’s. He was also very devoted to his wife and children and loved being generous with his time to his family. Whatever it was, he could never say no to his family or to the church and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Hazel; children, Paula (Jack) Moncrief and Ruth Weber; grandchildren, Jesse, Christopher, and Shane Moncrief; 4 great-grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel; and son, John Michael Weber.

Visitation will be from noon to 1:00 P.M., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, April 25, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Fargo VA or to the Fargo YMCA.
