Donna M. Mikulecky

Donna M. Mikulecky, 68, of Hitterdal, MN, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo.

Donna Mary Gunderson was born April 1, 1948, in Ada, MN, to Thomas and Mabel Widme Gunderson. She grew up In the Twin Valley, MN area and graduated from high school there in 1966. In the summers during high school she worked with her sister Bonnie, alongside their dad, at his crop-spraying business. Over the years, Donna worked for several businesses in customer service and retail including Viking Snowmobile in Twin Valley, Vigen-Johnson Furniture in Hawley, and Vision World in Moorhead. She retired from Fargo Glass and Paint in October 2014.

Donna enjoyed watching Minnesota Vikings football, playing board games and watching game shows. In the summers when her children were young, the family especially enjoyed camping together. Donna always loved spending time with her family and friends. A trip she took to the West Coast in the fall of 2015 with her nieces and her sister was very memorable. Donna was also known for sewing her own clothes. She had a unique style in the 70’s and 80’s with her wide leg pants, to the recent fashion sense of fuzzy sweaters for her and her sister, Bonnie. She was a very devoted mom and grandmother and she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Angela Mikulecky, of Hitterdal; her son, Michael Bobbie Mikulecky, of Arthur, ND; her four grandchildren, Mason, Taylor, Carter and Kate Mikulecky; and her nieces, Tammy Allen Carlsrud and Cindy Chad Koskela, and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Bonnie, and her long-time friends, Earl Davis and Herman Winkels.
