Donovan Ross Leach

Donovan Ross Leach, 91, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Glyndon, MN, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at Eventide on 8^th, Moorhead, MN with his daughters by his side.

Donovan was born on October 5, 1926 to Arthur and Christie (Lebeda) Leach on the family farm in Clay County near Glyndon, MN. Donovan attended school at District 122 in Elkon Township in Clay County, MN where he graduated from the 8^th grade. He worked on the family farm until entering into the US Army in 1945. He spent one year in Oahu, Hawaii. In 1946 he returned to Glyndon where he was a truck driver for many years for Kost Brothers in Moorhead, MN. In 1963 he started as a finish carpenter working in the Fargo, Moorhead area. On December 15, 1949 he married Monna Lou Olsen in Rustad Lutheran Church in Rustad, MN. They lived in Moorhead for a short time before moving to Glyndon where they raised their two daughters.

Don was a member of Glyndon Lutheran Church. Don and Monna spent several winters in Apache Junction, AZ.

Don is survived by his daughters, Maureen (Don Schmidt) Holden, of West Fargo and LuAnn (Matt) Tack, of Dilworth; granddaughters, Christie (Jimmy) Stevens, of Battle Ground, WA and Corrie (Efren) Serrano, of Idaho Falls, ID, Xaina Tack, of Eagan, and Kylee Tack, of Dilworth; great-grandchildren,  Hunter and Holden Stevens, Ryker and Madden Serrano; step-great-grandchildren, Breeley and Sam Serrano; siblings, Irvin (Delores) Leach, Mavis (Dick) Wang, Diane Pickett, Denis (Irene) Leach, Ardelle (Harold) Brandt, Larroll (Carol) Leach, Doreen (Ron) Wang, Darwin (Marlys) Leach, Bonnie Leach, and Curt (Kris) Leach; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Don is preceded in death by his wife, Monna Lou; parents, Arthur and Christie; siblings, Verne, Duane, Elthea, and Rickie.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN at 2:00PM with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN, following the service.
