Dolly (Doris) Brevik, 88, of Twin Valley, MN, died on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND. Dolly was born December 1, 1929, the daughter of Sigvart and Edythe Vigesaa in Cooperstown, ND. They moved to Twin Valley when Dolly was 10 years old. They lived in the community for a year before her father bought the house on the hill with the big white barn. She grew up there and attended Twin Valley school. On January 1, 1947 she married Clifton Brevik. They made their home in Twin Valley for a while, then moved to California. Clifton took a job building cement elevators and they traveled with this company for a few years. They moved back to Twin Valley and Clifton did construction work. In 1965 he became Post Master of Twin Valley. Dolly worked at the nursing home and enrolled in the LPN school in Thief River Falls, MN. She graduated in 1968 and went to work at the Ada Hospital for a while and then went to work at the nursing homes where she worked for 32 years. Dolly retired and didn’t like it, so she went to work at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen, MN. She worked there for 11 years.

Dolly loved her family and nursing. In her younger years she loved car racing, snowmobiling and water skiing.

She is survived by her 4 children, Chris (Rodger) Roering of Twin Valley, MN, Terry Brevik of Winger, MN, Bobby (Janice) Brevik of Twin Valley, MN, Joey Brevik of Twin Valley, MN; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and her sister, Shirley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton; her parents; and 7 siblings.

Blessed be the memory of Dolly Brevik.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 6, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11:00 a.m., in Trinity Lutheran Church, Twin Valley, MN.

Interment will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Twin Valley, MN.
