Doris G. Aune

Doris “Dorrie” G. Aune, 86, of Lake Park, MN, died Tuesday, January 15, 2013, in Sunnyside Care Center, Lake Park, MN.

Doris Grace was born July 20, 1926, in Lake Park, MN, to Oscar and Lena Kittelson Handegard. She was baptized and confirmed at Lake Park Lutheran Church. Doris attended school in Lake Park. She married Casper Aune May 27, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Together they made their home in Lake Park. Doris worked for the Red Owl grocery store, Lake Park Café and did bookkeeping for Casper’s sanitation business. She was a member of the Lake Park Lutheran Quilting Club. She also enjoyed cross stitching and rosemaling crafts. Doris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and the children in her neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Casper, Sr.; her parents; one son, Casper Aune, Jr.; and brothers, Arndt, Ed, Kenneth, Gustav, Raymond and Orville; sisters, Grace, Idene and Beatrice.

Doris is survived by one son, Danny Pam Aune of Lake Park, MN; two sisters, Betty Julian Johnson of Hawley, MN, and Margy Gordy Luthi of Glyndon, MN; five grandchildren, Jenny Aune Olafsson Siggi of Ames, Iowa, Kathrina Dave O’Connell of Lake Park, MN, Karl Aune of Lake Park, MN, Marie Kraig Nelson of Bismarck, ND, and Lynn Nick Wenzel of Aitkin, MN; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marlene Aune of Brookfield, WI, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, January 20, 2013, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service, Wright Funeral Home, Lake Park, MN.

Funeral: Monday, January 21, 2013, 11:00 a.m., Lake Park Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.

Interment: Lake Park Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lake Park, MN.
