Doris Gold Nee Weisenbach passed away on March 10, 2006, at Elim Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was born in Cleveland, OH on December 9, 1922, to Paul and Suzanna Weisenbach. Her mother introduced her to the piano at an early age, igniting a life-long passion for music. Doris earned a Bachelor's degree in music from the Cleveland Institute of Music in 1944. She met her future husband, Harold Gold, on the night of her senior recital, and they were married shortly after her graduation. Doris and Harold raised four children in their home in Shaker Heights, OH . They moved to Fargo in 1989, to be close to their daughter, Pauli, and her family.Doris was a vivacious and dynamic woman who had great passion for those things in life she deemed important. Music was a central theme in her life; she will be remembered as an exacting teacher who expected nothing but the best from her students and herself. She shared her love of music with countless students during a career that spanned more than six decades. Her fascination with cats was well known to friends and family. A cat fortunate enough to be adopted by Doris was destined to a royal life of lavish attention. Above all else to those who knew her well, the core of Doris' existence was her family. She held tight to her children as she guided them through school, music lessons and beyond. Motherhood was a calling of the highest order to Doris, and she reveled in the triumphs and successes of her children as though they were her own. Doris is survived by her daughter, Cindi Cody and her husband, Jim Cody, of Phoenix AZ; brother, Paul Weisenbach and his wife, Rosemary, of Cleveland, Ohio; son-in-law David Worth, of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren, Lauren Worth Semerad and her spouse, Dr. David Semerad of Dupont, WA, Christopher Worth, of Omaha NE, Lindsey Cody, of Flagstaff, AZ, Simon and Susan Gold of Philadelphia, PA and Steven and Samantha Gold of Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Gold; sons, Randy and Geoffrey Gold; and daughter, Pauli Gold Worth.
