Doris M. Anderson

Doris May Anderson, 89, of Fargo, ND passed away on February 23,2021 at Bethany Retirement Home, Fargo, surrounded by loved ones.

Doris was born December 3, 1931 in Moorhead, MN to Albert and Florence (Haseldahl) Dean. Doris married Lloyd Anderson on November 9, 1980 in Moorhead, MN. She was his devoted wife for 25 years until his death in 2005.

Doris enjoyed spending time with her siblings, playing bingo and pull tabs with Lloyd at the American Legion, taking trips to the casino with her sons Jerry, Kim and Boyd, and spending time with her cats. She and Lloyd also traveled and spent many summers at the family cabin, known as “Maple Haven”.

She is survived by three children, Gerald Anderson, Kim (Jane) Anderson and Penny (James) Hyers, shared with her first husband Cyril Anderson, and two children Roseanne Allen (Shane Ottmar), and Clayton (Jennifer) Hess, shared with her second husband Gilbert Hess. She is also survived by 6 step children,18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by husbands Lloyd Anderson, Gilbert Hess, Cyril Anderson, sons Thomas (Cindy) Anderson, Gary (Shirley) Anderson, Boyd (Valerie) Anderson, Dean Anderson, Cyril Anderson Jr. and one grandchild, Michael Anderson.

The family would like to thank the staff at Bethany Retirement Home for their excellent care of Doris over the last five years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 2:00 P.M., with visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home in Moorhead, MN. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling in Minneapolis at a later date.

The memorial service will be livestreamed here at 2:00 P.M. on March 6th for those who are unable to attend the service.
