Dorothy E. Gingrey, age 94, of Harwood, North Dakota passed away March 27, 2012. She was born on a farm west of Argusville, ND to Betty and Otto Monson on February 28, 1918. She was the sixth of eight children. Dorothy graduated from Argusville High School in 1935, completed Dakota Business College, and then worked for the Department of Agriculture for 15 years. In 1951, she married Merhl Gingrey and they moved to Harwood, ND in 1955. Dorothy worked at the Harwood Stated Bank until retirement. She was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and served many years in the Ladies Circle. She was a leader in both Cub Scouts and 4-H. Dorothy was active in Harwood Honeybees Homemakers Club and in later years Harwood Senior Citizens. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Dorothy cared for her sister and brothers as they aged. She was known for her gentle and kind spirit, was an excellent seamstress, crocheter and was the queen of baking queens. She dearly loved her family.She is survived by her children, David Judy Gardner, ND, Kathy Dan Olympia, Salt Lake City, UT, son-in-law Bob Roy Sun City Center, FL; six grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel, Lisa, and Matthew Gingrey, Robert and Douglas Roy and one great grandson; nieces and nephews, Bruce Austad, Robb Austad, Bonnie Sellars and Pam Wieder. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Otto; her husband, Merhl; siblings, Rudolph, Robert, Roger, Hilma, Mildred and Myrtle Monson and Betty Austad; and stepdaughter, Beverly Roy.
