Dorothy Ida Ristvedt, 93, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007, at Bethany Nursing Home with her family at her side. Dorothy Reitmeier was born August 27, 1914, at Crookston, MN, to August and Nettie Bennen Reitmeier. She married Arnold Ristvedt in 1938 in Fargo, ND. They lived in Seattle for a time where they owned Arnold's Cafe, then returned to Fargo where they owned the 8th Street Café. They moved to Lake Park, MN, in 1952 and farmed there for 27 years. After Arnold died she moved to Moorhead and worked as a Nurses Assistant at Eventide Nursing Home for 17 years. She has been a resident of Bethany Homes for the last three years. Dorothy had an adventuresome spirit, loved to travel and doted on her grandchildren. She is survived by her three children; Dennis Theresa Ristvedt, Rosemount, MN, Clayton Beverly Ristvedt, Great Mills, MD, and Joanne William Steidl, Fargo, ND; two sisters Marie Reitmeier, Fargo, ND, and Margerie Hosman, Fargo, ND; 8 grandchildren, Tonya Martin Holbrook, Fargo, ND, Jason Tracey Steidl, Wilsonville, OR, Martin Sheri Steidl, Fargo, ND, Jamie Kaley Steidl, Fargo, ND, John Ristvedt, Graceville, MN, Paul Ristvedt, Eagen, MN, Mark Ristvedt, Eagen, MN and Margot Ristvedt, Great Mills, MD and ten great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Arnold.
