Dorothy M. Olson

Dorothy was born November 15, 1931, in Lake Park, Minnesota to Ernest and Minnie Olson Nelson. She grew up and attended school in Lake Park, graduating from Lake Park High School. Dorothy moved to Virginia where she married Harvey Olson on June 20, 1952, at Camp Pickett, Virginia. They moved back to Lake Park in 1954 where they made their home. Harvey died July 23, 1994. Dorothy was an active member of Cormorant Lutheran Church, where she was active with the Cormorant Lutheran Quilters and the Deborah Circle. She was an avid Twins fan and she loved riding her John Deere lawn mower. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Jodie Joe Crabtree of Lake Park, MN; one sister, Myrtle Tufton of Moorhead, MN; sisters-in-law, DeLoyne Nelson of Lake Park, MN, Norma Nelson of Lake Park, MN, Marlys Nelson of Lake Park, MN, and Eleen Olson of Lake Park, MN; brother-in-law, Daryle "Ole" Darlene Olson of Detroit Lakes, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Tammy, three brothers, Norman, Roland and Arvid Nelson and two brothers-in-law, Bud Tufton and Ardeen Olson.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
