Dorothy Marie Nordick

Dorothy Marie Nordick, 84, Fargo, ND died Sunday, April 21, at Bethany Retirement Living.  

Dorothy Marie Andersen was born September 4, 1939, near Chaseley, ND to George and Dora (Walks) Andersen. She married Alvin Nordick of Kent, MN on November 5, 1960. They resided near Kent, and later in Fargo, ND. Together they raised five girls.

Dorothy spent several years cooking and baking for different organizations and multiple retirement homes in the community. Upon retirement she spent her winters in Mesa, AZ. In her spare time, she liked to work on ceramics, knitting, sewing, and do paper tole art.  

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Ken) Asleson, Detroit Lakes MN; Vickie Nordick, Scribner NE; Pam Lovaas, West Fargo ND; Kim (Steve) Lomsdal, Moorhead MN; and Shelly (Ron) Nachtman, Lincoln NE.  She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters Eunice Johnson, Dian Nicklay, Sharon (Tom) Navarro, sister-in-law Beatrice Andersen, brother-in-law Gordon Arntson, numerous nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend Joan Satrom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Gene Andersen, sisters Betty Pfaff, Joyce Arntson, and Sheila Christensen.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Bethany in Fargo, and Ethos Hospice.

Per Dorothy’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.
