Dorothy Storandt, 89, Moorhead, MN, died on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Dorothy Mae Jefferson was born on December 22, 1923, in Moorhead, MN, to Henry and May Niles Jefferson. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School and Moorhead State Teachers College. She earned her Master’s degree in Library Science at the University Wisconsin, Madison, WI.
Dorothy married Harrison Storandt in 1960 and they made their home on a farm in rural West Salem, WI, until his death. Dorothy returned to Moorhead where she raised three boys on her own. She worked for the Fargo Public Schools for several years.
Dorothy is survived by her sons, Chip Dawn Storandt, and their children Sarah and Michael, Moorhead, MN, Jeff Shelley Storandt, and their daughter Jessica, Washougal, WA; daughter-in-law, Julie Storandt, and her children Joey and Abbie, Union, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison; son Scott; and brothers Roy, Tom and Niles Jefferson.
Funeral: Friday, July 19, 2013, at 2:00 P.M., in the First Presbyterian Church, Moorhead, MN. Visitation will be for one hour before the funeral in the church.
Interment: Neshonoc Cemetery, West Salem, WI.
