Dorothy V. Warling

Dorothy V. Warling, 87, of Detroit Lakes, MN, formerly of Lake Park, MN, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota.Dorothy V. Warling was born February 2, 1919 to Harry and Luvena Zimmerman in Keller Township, Larson, North Dakota, where she grew up and attended rural schools. She graduated from Noonan, North Dakota High School and then attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, North Dakota. Dorothy worked for the Treasury Department at Washington D.C. and Chicago, Illinois, and later worked for the Veterans Administration in Fargo, North Dakota. Dorothy married Iver Warling on May 11, 1944 in Chicago. In 1946 they moved to Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, and in 1952 they purchased a farm in the Lake Park/Audubon area. Iver died September 14, 1993. In February of 1999, Dorothy moved to Detroit Lakes. Dorothy was active in the Lake Park Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, and 4-H. She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Warling, Scottsdale, AZ; a son, Kenneth Warling, Detroit Lakes, MN; one brother, Ronald Zimmerman, Glyndon, MN; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
