Duane A. Baker, Dilworth, MN, formerly Sabin, MN, died on Sunday, November 1, 2020, in in Lilac Homes, Dilworth, MN.

Duane Alan Baker was born on December 27, 1924, at Strandquist, MN, to Raymond and Verna (Isaacson) Baker. He moved with his family to the Halstad – Shelly, MN, area at the age of 5 and grew up and attended school there. In 1937 he moved to the Glyndon – Sabin area where he continued to farm until retiring in 1989. He continued to help his son farm for several years.

Duane married Beverly Delger on June 18, 1947, at Olivet Lutheran Church in Fargo. Beverly died on January 27, 2016.

Duane is survived by his children, Daniel D. Baker, Glyndon, MN, Laurie (Donald) Sakkinen, North Pole, AK, Jim (Yvonne) Baker, Sabin, MN, and Kurt (Sharon) Baker, Moorhead, MN; eleven grandchildren, Michele J. (Todd) Christiansen, Fairbanks, AK, Katie Jo (Bryan) Slama, Eau Claire, WI, Trisha D. Baker, Shoreview, MN, Tera D. (Jon) Leatherwood, Litchfield Park, AZ, Freya A. (Jesse) Janssen, Anchorage, AK, Adam F.D. Sakkinen, North Pole, AK, Brittany R. Muchow, Fargo, ND, Kelsey M. (Ben) Martin, Fargo, ND, Alex J. Baker, Horace, ND, Jessica L. (Jason Mellmer) Baker, West Fargo, ND, Megan J. Baker, Fergus Falls, MN; nine great-grandchildren, Aurora, Luna, Cooper, Everly, Brody, Roxanne, Lauren, Ty, and Pyper; one great-great-grandchild, Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly; daughter Sharon; great-grandson Dustin; brother Lynn Lokken; and sister Ila Reierson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may given to Glyndon Lutheran Church or Churches United for the Homeless.

Funeral: Friday, November 6, 2020, at 10:00 A.M., with visitation one hour before the service in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN. The funeral will be livestreamed on Duane’s obituary page at www.wrightfuneral.com.

Interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Sabin, MN.
