Duane Bergson

Duane Joel Bergson, 84, of Ulen, MN, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Viking Manor Nursing Home in Ulen.

Duane was born in Ulen Township on May 27, 1933, at 2:00 P.M., the second of twins, to James and Lillian (Sabin) Bergson.  He attended elementary and secondary school in Ulen and then went on to attend the Wahpeton School of Science.  Duane served his country in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Japan, Korea and finally in SD as a control tower operator.  On June 21, 1959, he was united in marriage to Gloria Folstrom at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Moorhead. They had two sons together, Lyle and Joel.  Duane spent most of his working life as a plumber or plumbing inspector.  In his spare time, he loved fixing cars, reading, listening to country music and building things; he even built their home in Kragnes.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; his sons, Lyle and Joel, and three grandchildren, Marisa, Austin and Alexis. He was preceded in death by his parents, his five brothers, Jerome, Mervin, Mylan, Darrel (his twin), and Bruce, and his sister, Lorraine Ecklund.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at 1:00 P.M., at the chapel in Viking Manor Nursing Home, Ulen, MN.  Visitation will be for one hour before the service. Interment will be at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ulen.
