Dwayne A. Hanson, 88, of Rollag, MN, passed away February 15, 2016, in the V.A. Medical Center, Fargo, ND. Dwayne was born in Owatonna, MN, on April 15, 1927, to Alice Peterson. He was raised by Alfred and Clara Hanson in Rollag, MN, where he grew up and attended school. Dwayne then served in the U.S. Army for five years. In 1951, he married Blanche Rugg. Together they made their home in Rollag and had six children. Dwayne then served in the U.S. Air force for three years before being honorably discharged. Blanche passed away in 1966, and in 1971, Dwayne married Viola Heger. With this union brought Dale Heger. Over the years, Dwayne worked at Fargo Tank, Steiger Tractors and later farmed and raised cattle. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and fishing trips to Canada with his sons. He also enjoyed gardening, welding and ironwork, woodworking and raising cattle, but most of all spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed.
Dwayne is survived by his children, Larry Debbie Hanson, Bob Niney Hanson, Ron Hanson, Bonny Holbrook, Shirley Schaeffer, Dale Heger; seven grandchildren, Tracy Keith Stebleton, Micky Sue Hanson, Samantha Hanson, Krissy Lehfeldt, Joy Holbrook, Sarah Falco Kriel, Eve Schaeffer; seven great-grandchildren, Garrett, Bryson, Emily, Hanna, Logan, McKayla, Sabine; brother, Martin Peterson; aunt, Ellen Wehrman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Blanche and Viola; daughter, Barbara Rodney Lehfeldt; and siblings, Delores, Howard and Gordon.
