Edwin “Ed” Bulik

Edwin Ed Bulik was born on November 5, 1924, to Paul and Dorothy Bulik on a farm near Barnesville, Minnesota. He served his country as a seaman first class in World War II. He was a combat wounded veteran from the South Pacific campaign. He received an honorable discharge on July 21, 1946. Shortly thereafter he met Doris Dozak at a dance and on their first meeting he boldly proclaimed for all to hear “I’m going to marry that girl”. On November 28, 1950, they were wed. They had two children Bob and Bev. Ed loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping. He acquired many trophy specimens over the years. He loved to share his expertise with his son, daughter, and grandsons and their friends as well. He was a carpenter for all of his working life and later took up wood carving. Ed was a fierce competitor on his bowling and horseshoe teams. Ed loved to gamble and many knew him as “lucky Eddie”. Ed had some health issues the last decade of his life but was inspired to keep going by the promise of the next outdoor venture with his son, grandsons, and friends. Ed loved an adventure but what he loved the most was his adventure with his wife of 65 years, Doris. He will be deeply missed but his spirit will carry on through the lives he touched. Ed died on February 14, 2016. He spent his last days in the presence of family knowing that he was loved and appreciated. He was preceded in death by his sister Irene Olson and his parents Paul and Dora Bulik. He is survived by his wife Doris Bulik, son Bob Connie Bulik, daughter Bev Dale Sellner, grandsons Brian Ann Bulik, Matt Bulik, granddaughters Jessica Sean Nelson, Kari Fischer, Amber Fischer, and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation: Tuesday, Feb. 16th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 6:30 p.m. in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Funeral Service: Wednesday, Feb. 17th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN.

Interment: St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
