Edwin Geiszler, 94, Moorhead, MN, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2010, in the Golden Living Center. Edwin was born on December 2, 1915, near Tripp, SD, to Gottlieb and Margaretha Schmierer Geiszler. He was baptized at Tripp, SD on January 29, 1915. In 1918 he moved with his family to a farm near Glyndon, MN, where he attended country school. Edwin had scarlet fever, polio and pneumonia. As a result of having polio he spent some time in the Gillette State Hospital, St. Paul, MN, where he was confirmed on May 4, 1930. He worked on the Charlie and Elmer Gust and the Arnold Schulz farms near Durbin, ND. He later worked for Armour's in West Fargo, ND. Edwin married Evangeline Heller on November 24, 1947 in Grandin, ND. After Armour's closed, he worked on the Bernard, Lloyd, Alvin and Eugene Kragnes Farms. Edwin enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and the people they babysat over the years. The Statue of Liberty was his favorite site because his mother had told them about seeing it when she immigrated to this country.Edwin is survived by his wife, Evangeline, Moorhead, MN; two brothers, Loren Helen Geiszler, Moorhead, MN, and Ramon Darlene Geiszler, Moorhead, MN; one sister, Dorothy Leland Delger, Fargo, ND; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and four sisters.
