Edwin Brunsvold was born May 7, 1920 in Page, ND, the 6th of 10 children of Even and Amanda Brunsvold. He went to school in Page and helped work the family farm. At 15, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. He met Inez Fuller in Fargo and they were married on December 13, 1941. Eddy was drafted into the Army in 1943; he served his military time in Spokane, Washington where Inez and their first child, Sharon, lived with him. He was discharged in March 1946 attaining the rank of Tech Sgt. They moved home to Fargo where he worked in carpentry and construction. Their daughter Barb and son Mike were born in Fargo; the family moved to Moorhead in 1955. He and brother in law, Carl Weiss, ran an independent propane gas company for years in Dilworth. Eddy, Inez and Mike moved to Spokane in 1964 where Eddy worked for a large construction company that also did work in Alaska, building a lodge, cabins and trails near Glacier Bay. They returned to Fargo in 1969 where Eddy worked again for local construction companies and then Southeastern Community Action Agency. He was in charge of the winterization projects. He retired in 1993. He was a life time member of the Eagles and Elks clubs where he and Inez loved to eat, dance and socialize. They were also active in the local Senior Citizens card clubs and bingo. Dad loved his bingo! Eddy helped friends and family with construction projects whether a patio, remodeling or a whole house! While retired, they did some traveling with family & friends often stopping to visit a casino! Inez died in 1999 and Eddy continued to play cards and bingo at the Senior Centers around town. After some health issues, he moved into Bethany Towers assisted living and then to Bethany Cares 3rd floor where he passed away on Friday September 4, 2009.Eddy was a kind man with a good sense of humor; he liked to laugh and have fun. He loved his family and his family loved him. He was preceded in death by 8 siblings, his wife Inez and his daughter Sharon. He is survived by his sister, Betty Don Atherton, his daughter Barb Tim Simison of Moorhead, his son Mike Julie Brunsvold of Glyndon, MN, 7 grandchildren -Monte Cheryl Wilner, Desiree Dorwart Philip, Carrie Simison-Bitz Dave, Jeff Alison Simison, Bree Triplett Nathan, Brady and Brett Brunsvold and 6 great grandchildren-Calvin Wilner, Scarlet, Tristan, and Rohin Triplett, Carter Simison and Avery Sharon Dorwart. He is survived by many close nephews and nieces. Dad, Grandpa Eddy, and Uncle Eddy will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
