Eileen M. Coyle

Eileen Mae Coyle, 89, of Dilworth, MN passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, in her home.

Eileen was born May 4, 1933, at Graceville, MN to Fred and Hulda Swedberg on the family farm. They moved to Detroit Lakes, MN when she was 13 and she graduated with the class of 1951. After graduation she worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co.

On May 8, 1953, Eileen married Jerome Coyle and they moved to Wichita, KS before later moving to Duluth, MN where she again worked part-time for NW Bell Tel. Co. When the boys were all in school Eileen started full-time employment at the Duluth Air Force Base where Jerry was also employed. During her 12 years at the base she worked in Procurement, Base Housing, Administrative Asst., Publications and Forms Manager, and Base Librarian. Eileen attended and served in the various churches where they resided ending at Dilworth Lutheran Church as their Librarian. 

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome; first grandchild, Amanda Jean; brothers, Leroy, and Wallace; niece, Susan and nephews, Chad, and Rod. 

She is survived by her three sons, Michael B. (Laura), Superior, WI, Allan W. (Michelle), Pelican Rapids, MN, Kevin J. (Barbara), Dilworth, MN; six grandchildren, Angela (Scott Jerde Jr.), Lee, Dustin, Savannah, Spencer, Reese, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Eileen’s honor are preferred to Dilworth Lutheran Church.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
