Eileen J. Vette

Eileen Joyce Vette, 88, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, January 4, 2016 in her home, under care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Eileen was born on June 19, 1927 to Fritz and Anna Schneider Zuehlke in Britton, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Britton, SD. She grew up and attended school in the Britton area, graduating from Britton High School in 1945. In the fall of 1945 Eileen moved to Fargo to attend Fargo Business College. She was then employed doing secretarial work at O’Day Equipment Company.

On December 11, 1949, she married Leland Vette of Moorhead at her home church in Britton, SD. They farmed and raised their family south of Moorhead. They retired in 1990 and moved into Moorhead in 2000. They have two children, Deborah Meier of Collinsville, IL and Craig Vette of Columbus, OH.

Eileen is survived by her husband, Leland, and children, Deborah John Meier, Collinsville, IL and Craig Vette, Columbus, OH, two grandchildren, Katharine Christopher Schelp, and Nicholas Erika Meier, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Leonard.

“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved” Mark 16:16. From her baptism until her death, Eileen’s faith never wavered. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” Romans 1:16. Her earthly journey complete, Eileen now rests in her Lord and Savior’s arms.

Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead. The funeral will be on Friday, January 8, 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, Fargo, with Rev. David Suelzle officiating. Interment will be in Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead.

Memorials may be given to the Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund.
