Eileen M. Cary

Eileen M. Cary, 82, Dilworth, MN, formerly Ulen and Lake Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2011, in Sanford Palliative Care, Fargo, ND, surrounded by her loving family. Eileen M. Syverson was born on April 22, 1929, near Ulen, MN, to Selmer and Cora Morken Syverson. She grew up and attended school at District 29 and Ulen High School. Eileen married Harold Cary on March 14, 1947, in Moorhead, and they made their home in the Ulen area until moving to Lake Park, MN, in 1967. In 2006, they moved to Dilworth. Harold and Eileen spent many of their retirement years travelling and caring for their well manicured yard. Harold died on April 7, 2010.Eileen had been a life member of Atlanta Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. She was devoted to her family, enjoying her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a great passion for her flower garden and yard. She loved to play the piano and her accordion.In spite of her courageous battle with cancer over the past year she lived life to the fullest. She was able to travel to Missouri, California, and many other family events.She will be remembered for her compassion, sense of humor, and her love of life, family and friends.A special thanks to Dr. Tinguely, Denise and the staff of Roger Maris, Sanford Palliative Care and Hospice of the Red River Valley.Eileen is survived by her sons, Dean Brenda Cary, Upper Saddle River, New Jersey; Keith Pat Cary, Ojai, CA, Neil Cary, Bismarck, ND; daughters, Pam Hank Wuertz, Blaine, MN, Bonnie Mark Johnson, Moorhead, MN; brothers Marlyn Mary Lou Syverson, Flom, MN, Waldo Diane Syverson, Hitterdal, MN, Allen Alice Syverson, Kenyon, MN; sisters Vivian Beske, Faribault, MN, Orrine Lowell Ellefson, Twin Valley, MN, Carla Larry Forsythe, Detroit Lakes, MN, Fern Jim Saatoff, Deer River, MN; twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister Chrystella Townsend, and two brothers, Lyle and Oren Syverson.
