Eldora G. Koehler

Eldora Grace Koehler died Thursday, December 24th, 2009 at the age of 103, in Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND.She was born on August 31, 1906, to Frank and Mary Grest Koehler in Sheldon, ND. In 1908 she moved with her parents to Canada to an area later known as Watrous, Saskatchewan where she grew up and obtained her high school education. She obtained her teachers' certificate at Saskatchewan's Saskatoon Normal College and taught in rural and town schools. In 1939 she moved to Moorhead to live with her aunt, Mrs. Ursula Grest Smith. She attended business college and was employed by JC Penny until she retired.She is survived by one niece, Jean Koehler Retzlaff and one nephew, Donald Koehler as well as several cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ervin Edna, Eldon Laverne, Eugene Bea, and one sister, Elvira.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Grace United Methodist Church or Children's Medical Research.
