Eleanor L. Olsgaard

Eleanor Olsgaard, 91, of Fargo, ND, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012, in Bethany on University, Fargo, ND. Eleanor Knudson was born July 23, 1920, in Pelican Rapids, MN, the 11th of 12 children to Theodore and Annette Knudson. She was baptized and later confirmed May 6, 1934, in Ringsaker Lutheran Church by the late Rev. H.W. Estrem. She graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1938. Eleanor came to Fargo and graduated from the New York Hairdressing Academy. She worked at the DeLendrecies Beauty Studio for several years and then returned to the New York Hairdressing Academy as an instructor. Later she worked at Northwestern Beauty & Barber Supply Inc., and also George A. Soule Law Office and later his successor Thomas A. Davies Law Office as a bookkeeper. She retired in 1975. On October 1, 1960, Eleanor married Raymond Olsgaard at Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo, by Rev. Donald Ronning. Raymond died April 28, 1992.Eleanor is survived by 11 nieces and nephews, numerous grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews. She is also survived by the Olsgaard families and their children and grandchildren, as well as George Fulford.She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; eight brothers, Arthur, Alfred, Victor, Carl, Kermit, Charles, Ted, Donald; three sisters; Effie Ostnus, Viola Personius and Dorothy Ballord.
