Elenore was born July 26, 1919, to Ole and Manda Nelson Vidden. She grew up and attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School. After high school she attended North Dakota Agricultural College, now North Dakota State University. In October of 1942, she married Arthur Smith in Moorhead, MN. Together they made their home in Moorhead. Elenore worked at Neubarth's Jewelry in Moorhead for many years. In 1965, Elenore and Arthur moved to the Twin Cities. She worked various jobs and was active in the community. Elenore was a faithful Christian who was very involved with St. Anthony Park Church and at one time had been the President of the Ladies Association. Arthur passed away in 1971. In 1999, she moved back to the Fargo/Moorhead area. She lived in Eventide Lutheran Home for brief time before moving in with her daughter. Elenore had more recently been living at the Waterford in Fargo. Elenore was a very proud mother and grandmother. She was gifted and took much pride in her crafts. She enjoyed sewing, was a great seamstress and liked to cook for family and friends, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.Elenore is survived by daughter, January Childs; grandchildren, James Karen Childs and their children, Jac and Carrington; Jennifer Scott Bergen and their children, Elizabeth Julianna and Michael; and Jason Kim Childs and their children, Bailey and Brooklyn Ella. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
