Elenore Irene Spielman

Elenore Irene (Nyberg) Spielman, 88, of Moorhead, MN, formerly of Twin Valley, MN, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, in her home in Moorhead, surrounded by her daughters.

Elenore was born on January 2, 1935, to Charles and Beda “Gina” (Lystrom) Nyberg in Perley, MN. The family moved to Twin Valley, MN, where she attended school. She graduated from Ada High School and joined the United States Air Force, working at the Pentagon as a Communication Center Specialist. After serving her country for two years, she moved back to Ada, MN, where she worked as a nurses aid at Ada Hospital. She was united in marriage to Charles Spielman in 1964, in Ada. They began farming on the family farm near Twin Valley, MN, where she raised her family and managed her side business of upholstering furniture. After Charles’ passing in 2010, she sold the farm in 2012 and moved into Twin Valley. In 2021, she moved to Moorhead, MN, where she has lived ever since.

Elenore enjoyed crocheting and playing cards with family and friends. She also loved making afghans and donating them to the V.A.

Elenore is survived by her three daughters, Karen Spielman, Kathy Spielman, and Pam Banks; sisters, Ann Harkins and Janet Welch; and many other loving relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, Charles and Gina; and her 6 siblings.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Ethos Hospice Care or the Veterans Honor Flight of ND/MN.
