Elizabeth A. ’Liz’ Gilbertson

Elizabeth "Liz" Ann Gilbertson, age 43, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, in MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Liz was born May 8, 1965 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Johnny and Luella Wickenheiser Nagel. She grew up and attended school in Bismarck, ND, graduating from St. Mary's High School in 1983. She then attended Wahpeton School of Science for two years. On July 13, 1991, Liz married Joe Gilbertson at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Moorhead. Together they had two daughters, Cory and Danielle. She worked as the Postmaster at Concordia College and GNC; for the last 18 years as the Assistant Credit Manager at Cole Papers. Liz was a beautiful, strong and amazing woman who was an inspiration to all, especially during her intensive battle with cancer over the past 15 months. She had great passion for books, movies and angel figurines which decorate her home. Her daughters were her pride and joy and Liz truly was their biggest fan at sporting events. Her spirit lit up the room and she could make everyone smile; unfortunately, there are so many people that will never have the opportunity to be touched by her presence. Liz loved life and had a never-ending group of friends and the people with whom she worked were like a second family. There is deep emptiness without her…she will be missed dearly by all those who knew her.She is survived by her husband, Joe Gilbertson and two daughters, Cory and Danielle Gilbertson and her very special dog, Kirby of Moorhead, MN; parents, Johnny and Luella Nagel of Bismarck, ND; two brothers, John wife C Nagel of Belleair Beach, FL and Max fiance' Jessie Simon Nagel of Lacrosse, WI; nephew, Tyler Nagel of Lacrosse, WI; and her mother and father-in-law, Charlie and Gloria Gilbertson of Moorhead, MN; two brothers-in-law, John Ivy Gilbertson of Moorhead, MN and Mike Nancy Gilbertson of Hazen, ND; one sister-in-law, Mary Gilbertson of West Fargo, ND, seven nieces and nephews on the Gilbertson side, and two very special friends whom Liz referred to as sisters, Jennifer Barke and Karen Gordon, all from the Fargo-Moorhead area.She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Dan Gilbertson husband of Mary.In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Liz are preferred to Roger Maris Cancer Center 820 4th Street North Fargo, ND 58122.Share your special memories and moments of Liz at her url\=http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/elizabethgilbertsonCaring Bridge/url web site.
