Elizabeth Anne Valan Hoover

December 31, 1957 — July 4, 2005

Elizabeth Anne Valan Hoover was born in Moorhead, Minnesota on New Years Eve in 1957. She danced through her early life with a flair that is still talked about today. After graduating from Moorhead High School in 1976, her love of horses led her to the University of Minnesota Crookston where she earned her degree in Horse Management. Later, her love and care of people brought her to the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota, where she trained to be an LPN in preparation for a life long career in nursing. Liz was a great mom and along with her former husbands Joe and Tom she raised and loved three wonderful children: Sepp Haukebo, Savannah Hoover and Chancelor Hoover. Liz brought her zest for life to the communities of Angel Fire, New Mexico; Pampa, Texas; and most recently, Fargo-Moorhead where she was employed as a nurse with MeritCare.Liz's life on this earth ended on the Fourth of July after she had spent a wonderful day at the farm and the lakes with her beloved children, friends and family. Along with her children, Liz is survived by her parents Merlyn and Shirlee Valan of rural Moorhead; one brother, Matthew Kathy Valan, Moorhead; two sisters, Kathleen Tom Muench, Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, Cordee Steve Tungseth, Bangor, Pennsylvania; and many nieces and nephews. Liz's family, along with her many friends will miss her unconditional love and her adventurous spirit dearly. May she rest in the care of our Lord.In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Hoff Lutheran Scholarship Fund.
